Are you a NICEIC approved contractor? Yes. Essex Electrical Services is a NICEIC Approved Contractor. This means we are independently assessed every year to confirm that our work meets the required standard of competence and complies fully with BS 7671, the UK wiring regulations. You can verify our approval on the NICEIC website.
How long have you been trading? Essex Electrical Services was established in 1993. We have over 30 years of experience delivering electrical installations and maintenance to commercial, industrial and domestic clients across Essex and East London.
Do you use subcontractors? No. Every engineer who works on your project is a directly employed member of the EES team. We never use subcontractors, which means consistent quality and clear accountability on every job.

Services
Do you carry out commercial and industrial electrical work? Yes. Commercial and industrial electrical work is a core part of what we do. We have extensive experience working on factories, warehouses, offices, retail premises and large-scale industrial sites across Essex and East London.
Do you also work on domestic properties? Yes. We carry out a full range of domestic electrical services including rewires, consumer unit replacements, additional sockets and lighting, EV charger installation and electrical testing and inspection.
Do you install and maintain generators? Yes. We install, commission and maintain generators for commercial and industrial clients. This includes planned preventive maintenance programmes to keep critical power systems running reliably.
Do you carry out electrical testing and inspection (EICR)? Yes. We carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) for both commercial and domestic properties. An EICR is required by law for all rented properties and is strongly recommended for any premises that has not been inspected in the last five years.
Do you offer planned preventive maintenance contracts? Yes. We offer preventive electrical maintenance programmes for commercial and industrial clients. Regular planned maintenance reduces the risk of unexpected failures, extends the life of your electrical systems and helps ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Do you hire portable lighting towers? Yes. We offer portable lighting tower hire for construction sites, events and emergency situations. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and availability.
Can you design and install new lighting systems? Yes. We design and install lighting systems for commercial, industrial and domestic settings, including energy-efficient LED retrofits and feature lighting for offices and retail environments.
Qualifications & Compliance
Is all your work compliant with BS 7671? Yes. All electrical work carried out by Essex Electrical Services complies fully with BS 7671, the IET Wiring Regulations. Our NICEIC approval provides independent annual verification of this.
Are you BSI members? Yes. Essex Electrical Services holds BSI membership, reflecting our commitment to operating to British Standards across all aspects of our work.
Do you carry public liability insurance? Yes. Essex Electrical Services carries full public liability insurance. Details are available on request.
Will I receive a certificate on completion of work? Yes. All notifiable electrical work is certified on completion. For testing and inspection work you will receive a formal EICR report. For new installations we issue the relevant completion certificates as required under Part P of the Building Regulations.

What information do I need to provide to get a quote? For smaller domestic jobs, a brief description of the work and your location is usually sufficient. For commercial and industrial projects, any existing drawings, specifications or information about the premises will help us provide a more accurate quotation.
